Senior Interior Designer
We’re on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Interior Designer with a minimum of 7 - 10 years' experience in the industry. We're drawn to original thinkers—those who bring fresh perspectives, a passion for design, and the ability to execute high-level concepts with precision. A strong understanding of building construction and a proven record of delivering successful projects are key.
Ideal candidates are collaborative by nature and thrive in a studio environment where they can contribute at every stage of mid to large-scale projects—from concept development through detailed design to implementation. We’re also looking for leaders—designers who are excited to mentor and inspire, and who want to shape and support our vibrant studio culture.
About the Role
You’ll work closely with our Principal Designer, managing client relationships, leading project deliverables, and providing guidance to Project Designers. You’ll play a key role in planning and executing projects from contract kick-off through to client handover. What You Bring
7- 10+ years of experience in interior design or architecture.
Degree or diploma in Interior Design or Architecture.
Familiarity with Ontario Building Code
Strong knowledge of building systems, construction methods, and detailing
Skilled in concept design, construction documentation, ff&e, and contract administration.
Ability to coordinate across disciplines (structural, mechanical, electrical, etc.).
Strong in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Excellent visual communication and presentation abilities.
Critical thinker with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Can work independently or within a team, with attention to detail and efficiency.
Well-organized, able to manage multiple tasks, timelines, and documentation.
Professional presence and client-facing confidence.
Positive, solutions-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Lead interior design on multiple active projects, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
Maintain high standards of design and technical execution.
Coordinate and collaborate effectively with consultants.
Oversee resource allocation and team schedules to meet deadlines.
Ensure quality production across space planning, data collection, and documentation.
Engage with clients during planning, programming, and needs assessments.
Oversee quality control for presentations and documentation.
Select FF&E, materials, and color palettes, and prepare specifications
Support procurement and consultant coordination
Understand roles and workflows on construction sites
Work with Project Managers to maintain timelines, including phased schedules.
Manage project fees and budgets.
Identify project risks early and resolve them proactively
Continuously improve project delivery and design processes
Mentor team members, delegate tasks, and lead effectively
Support onboarding and development of junior/intermediate designers
Build strong client relationships with clear communication and impactful presentations
Participate in business development and project pitches when needed.
Demonstrate knowledge of product and finish appropriateness for project needs
Additional Requirements
Some travel may be required
Must hold a valid driver’s license
